One of my earliest spiritual memories and Vacation Bible School. The songs. The dances. The crafts. The games. The snacks. The energy of fifty kids in a church fellowship hall learning that God loves them.

Those memories are real for VBS alum. Research consistently shows that the values, beliefs, and emotional associations formed in early childhood become the bedrock of a person's lifelong worldview. For millions of kids, VBS is the first time they encounter the idea that they are known and loved by God.

But the reality is that life moves fast. School starts. Summer ends. New friendships and new activities fill the space where that spark was lit.

This is where our doll comes in.

A doll given at VBS is more than a teaching tool. It's a physical anchor — a tangible object that sits in a child's room, travels with them, gets carried to sleepovers and tucked in at bedtime. Every time a child sees it, holds it, or plays with it, the memory of that week gets activated. The feeling of being loved. The story they heard. The song they sang. The doll becomes a recall mechanism — gently, persistently bringing back the formative experience long after the week is over.

It will continually rekindle that spark — Not just a memory to look back on, but a feeling kept alive and front of mind through every season that follows.

Spiritual formation doesn't happen in a single week. It happens through repetition, through relationship, through objects and rituals that keep pointing a child back to the same truth.
